2003 Mardi Gras Pictures

These photos of the Mamou Courir de Mardi Gras were taken during the first part of the run. That's Capitaine Boyd Landreneau shown at left holding a bottle of coke. Kenneth Mouiller also served as capitain in 2003.

The Mardi Gras are shown in the photo below after they turned onto Sixth Street on their way out of town.

The acrobatic Mardi Gras were photographed on the lot beside the Piggly Wiggly Grocery. The Mardi Gras are shown bathing in the drainage ditch by the store, where they also chased a chicken.

Further down the page are photos of chicken-chasing Mamou style. One of the co-capitaines races across a field on horse back, cutting corners like he was in the Ville Platte Tournoi, while the Mardi Gras follow.  After he releases the chicken, it takes the Mardi Gras a moment to see what has happened, and then they begin their chase.
